Mindray acquiring Zonare in $105M deal

Mindray Medical International Ltd., which has U.S. headquarters in Mahwah, announced Thursday its acquisition of ultrasound company Zonare Medical Systems for $105 million. Mindray develops and manufactures medical devices.

According to the announcement, California-based Zonare recorded about $64 million in revenue in 2012 on its ultrasound products. The Zonare brand will remain, and its president and CEO, Timothy A. Marcotte, will continue to manage the division. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
