To keep pace with a growing number of clients, Balance Point Payroll of Glen Rock plans to expand its work force by 25 percent, but in order to do so, it needs to expand its workspace as well. So the company is taking over an adjoining space, adding 2,500 square feet to its existing 9,000-square-foot office.
“We’re excited to make the move,” said company president Jason Jovanis. “It’s been a long time coming.”
The build-out started 60 days ago and should be complete in about a week. That’s good news for the three new employees hired so far who have been in temporary work spaces.
“We couldn’t hire any more than that,” Jovanis said. “I didn’t want people sitting on folding chairs.”
Jovanis said the growth Balance Point Payroll has experienced in the last few years is a testament to the company’s focus on customer service.
“We are proud of the fact that as Balance Point continues to grow, we regularly add new staff members, rather than overburden existing employees,” he said. “It’s one of the reasons why people love working here, and it allows our staff to provide the best possible service to our clients.’’
Instead of asking each of its 42 employees to take on extra clients as the company grows — as many businesses do these days — Balance Point plans on hiring about 10 people.
“We’ve found that when employees are overwhelmed with a client load and can’t properly service their customers, they are looking for a way out,” Jovanis said. “If employees are happy and good at what they do, they will thrive in the environment we have created.”
Founded in 2003, Balance Point Payroll is a privately held company providing payroll and human resources solutions for small- to medium-sized businesses throughout the New Jersey and New York area.
