In Print: Incentives urgency, McGreevey movie

The Garden State’s development community is eager to see Sen. Raymond Lesniak’s (D-Union) and Assemblyman Albert Coutinho’s (D-Newark) Economic Opportunity Act of 2013 passed, though the level of urgency varies, depending on who you talk to.

In this week’s State Street column, we look at one reason some say the legislation is worthy of an April special session.

We also look at how revenue numbers may – or may not – factor into this year’s budget debate, and find out why a foreign official made his way to Trenton last week.

Grapevine, meanwhile, recaps the premiere last week of “Fall to Grace,” the documentary about Jim McGreevey’s journey from governor to advocate for incarcerated women. The column has some of the big names in attendance, as well as reaction to the film and McGreevey’s return to the spotlight.

Grapevine also has a look at the high-dollar legal battle that ensued when Rutgers University left the Big East for the Big Ten. The pending move is a done deal. The only question is how much money exchanges hands between Rutgers and its soon-to-be-former league.
