Atlantic City Electric seeks higher distribution charge

By ,

Atlantic City Electric, in the Mays Landing section of Hamilton, announced Monday it had asked the Board of Public Utilities to adjust several pass-through charges that appear on customers’ bills to address the increased cost of long-term power purchase contracts with non-utility generators.

In an announcement, the utility said if the request is approved by the BPU, a typical residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt hours per month would see a 1.86 percent increase in the monthly bill. The total monthly bill would go up by $3.37, from $181.52 to $184.89, effective June 1, 2013.
