Gov. Chris Christie made nice with his longtime antagonist Monday night, appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman to confront the gap-toothed host about all those fat jokes Letterman makes at Christie's expense.

Christie's been a frequent target of Letterman. The governor has said on multiple occasions that he doesn't mind the jokes, so long as they're actually funny.

When he repeated the assertion last night, Letterman asked Christie to quantify what percentage of Letterman's jokes he finds funny.

"About 40 percent," the governor replied. "Roughly."

The governor also took the opportunity to poke fun at himself. At the start of the interview, as Letterman began to broach the subject of his fat jokes, Christie pulled a donut out of his pocket and took a bite out of it.

"I didn't know this was gonna be this long," the governor explained.
