I guess it's the former accountant in me, but it's always fun to crunch some numbers about the NJBIZ Power 100 list. As always, I'd like to note Managing Editor Joe St. Arney and I don't have any quotas when we create these power lists, and we don't aim to hit any benchmarks such as a certain turnover rate. Here are some stats for the list in 2013 vs 2012.

New people on the list:
2013=50
2012=50

New to the top 10:
2013=6
2012=4

Women:
2013=13
2012=14

Women in the top 10:
2013=1
2012=1

Married couples:
2013=2
2012=1

Elected officials:
2013=8
2012=6

Atlantic City people:
2013=7
2012=7

Newark people:
2013=15
2012=9

People with “Sandy” in their writeup:
2013=14
2012=0

People in the cartoon on the cover:
2013=6
2012=8

Springsteen references:
2013=2
2012=0

Spots shared by two people:
2013=1
2012=2

Photo not available:
2013=3
2012=2

People who could not be named, despite weeks of frustratingly fruitless research:
2013=1
Entire history of the NJBIZ Power 100 list=0

But that last stat isn’t a sore spot or anything. Not at all.
