Morristown-based Bayer HealthCare LLC, a subsidiary of Germany-based Bayer AG, signed an agreement to acquire vitamins developer Schiff Nutrition International Inc. for approximately $1.2 billion to expand its portfolio and sales of nutritional products.
Medical technology provider Becton, Dickinson & Co., in Franklin Lakes, sold the majority of its discovery labware business to New York-based specialty glass and ceramics maker Corning Inc. for $730 million in cash.
Food packaging manufacturer Sealed Air Corp., in Elmwood Park, entered into an agreement to sell its Japan cleaning products subsidiary to New York-based investment firm The Carlyle Group for approximately $377 million.
Generic drug developer Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc., in Parsippany, sold its Rugby product line, which includes more than 250 over-the-counter drugs and trademarks, to The Harvard Drug Group LLC, in Livonia, Mich., for approximately $117 million.
