Wireless network purchase, pharma acquisition, clinical trial expansion.

Verizon Wireless, in the Basking Ridge section of Bernards, signed Friday an agreement to purchase wireless operating assets from Plateau Wireless, in New Mexico, owned by Eastern New Mexico Rural Telephone Cooperative and its subsidiary, Plateau Telecommunications. The purchase will expand Verizon Wireless' network in southeastern New Mexico by more than 85,000 Internet and wireless subscribers and 12,000 access lines. Terms were not disclosed.


Par Pharmaceutical Cos. Inc., in Woodcliff Lake, announced it completed the acquisition of India-based generic pharmaceuticals developer and manufacturer Edict Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. Par paid $20.5 million at closing and $4.4 million for the repayment of pre-close debt.

Catalent Pharma Solutions, in the Somerset section of Franklin, completed the acquisition of the clinical trial supplies arm of Aptuit Inc., in Greenwich, Conn., on Friday. The acquisition expands Catalent's clinical services business and delivery technologies for drugs, biologics and consumer health products.
