Parsippany-based Realogy is the latest company to receive accreditation from a national organization dedicated to reducing cancer among corporate employees.
The CEO Roundtable on Cancer, founded in 2001 by request from former President George H.W. Bush, awarded the CEO Cancer Gold Standard to Realogy last week, meaning the real estate company has met the standards for decreasing cancer risk for its employees by evaluating its benefits and culture.
In order to receive the accreditation, Realogy had to exhibit concrete actions in five different areas of health and wellness — discouraging tobacco use, encouraging physical activity, promoting healthy diet and nutrition, early detection, and providing access to quality care.
Realogy President and CEO Richard A. Smith said in the announcement that the company reached the gold standard by having employees take advantage of a wellness program called iThrive.
Sanofi CEO Christopher A. Viehbacher chairs the Roundtable, which has now accredited 116 organizations, covering 2.7 million employees and family members. Other New Jersey companies participating in the program include Johnson & Johnson, BD and Barnabas Health.
