Retail building sold, law firm gains international branch, cable supplier signals a deal


North

Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services announced Thursday it sold a 37-unit apartment building in Bloomfield, consisting of 30 residential units and seven ground-floor retail stores, to a Los Angeles-based commercial exchange buyer for $2.725 million.


K&L Gates, a global corporate law firm with an office in Newark, combined Thursday with the Milan-based firm Marini, Salsi, Picciau to give the company its 41st office worldwide and its eighth new location in the past two years.

Masillon Realty LLC acquired Wednesday a 7,500-square-foot retail building in Fort Lee. The property was purchased from Miami Beach-based Sussco Inc. for about $7.2 million.

Crump Group Inc., in Roseland, today sold its property, casualty and life insurance divisions and the rights to its name to North Carolina-based BB&T Insurance Services for $570 million. CGI CEO John Howard will join BB&T in a senior leadership role, reporting to the company's chairman and CEO, Wade Reece.

Central

Cable and satellite television signal processing supplier Blonder Tongue Laboratories Inc., in Old Bridge, announced Thursday it acquired all assets of Ohio-based R.L. Drake for $6.5 million. The engineering and manufacturing teams from both companies will combine to shorten the development and manufacturing cycle of their products.
