NJTV will air a trio of public affairs programs in the coming weeks, though their longevity will depend on sponsors and funding, said John Servidio, the station's general manager.
"NJ Boardroom," a business-focused program that debuted with a single episode in September, will return to NJTV in March as a monthly show, according to Steve Priolo, president of the Foundation for New Jersey Public Broadcasting, one of NJTV's fundraising arms.
Thomas Bracken, president of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, hosted the pilot episode and has signed on to host in March, but Servidio said there is only enough funding to cover the production of five episodes. That funding came from New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Co., he said.
"On the Record" and "Reporters Roundtable" — both hosted by NJN veteran Michael Aron before NJTV assumed operation of the state's public broadcasting operations — will relaunch later this month as weekly programs. The two shows have each received enough funding from Public Service Electric & Gas to run for 15 weeks, Servidio said.
"A number of possible sponsors have expressed interest in funding those shows," Servidio said. "But we're still out in the field every day trying to get the concrete funding we need to keep our shows running throughout the year."
