The Small Business Administration and Agility Recovery Solutions will host a webinar on crisis communications strategies for small businesses on Feb. 14, the second in their series of free disaster planning webinars.
"A vital part of growing a small business is guarding the company's infrastructure," SBA Administrator Karen Mills said. "This is about not only protecting the business before disaster strikes, but having a plan in place so the business rebuilds quickly and thrives."
During the hour-long webinar, Agility president and CEO Bob Boyd and continuity planner Mark Norton will discuss how to assess basic risks, identify critical functions and rethink the effectiveness of common technological preparation measures. For instance, backing up data requires functioning servers and Internet connectivity — and working in an area that's not prone to natural disasters.
Boyd also will review the company's continuity strategies, available through its website, PrepareMyBusiness.org, as well as the SBA's disaster recovery assistance through low-interest loans. Agility stocks more than 10,000 mobile office units and 2,500 generators available for dispatch to a small business during a disaster.
