By Scott GoldsteinLawmakers will discuss what state projects are being considered for funding and the deadlines for applying for the money, Roberts said.
“It’s imperative that New Jersey take advantage of every federal dollar available,” Roberts said. “Our future will be shaped by how effectively we spend this money, and President Obama has made it clear that he will hold everyone accountable. Ensuring proper oversight and accountability is our role, and we will make sure we do this right.”
Roberts expects Monday hearings to focus on federal aid available to New Jersey for health care, higher education, renewable energy, economic development and housing.
Next Thursday’s hearings are expected to involve testimony on transportation projects, education, environmental infrastructure projects, human services and making state buildings more energy efficient.
