Jack Atzmon, chief executive of Smartfish, said the device retails for $50 on the company’s Web site and through Amazon.com. “We have several deals in the works from large consumer groups that want to work on the surface strategy with us,” he said.
Ergomotion use a pivot design to subtly adjust the user’s wrist position, potentially reducing the discomfort of working in a fixed position.
Atzmon expects to have the first of said contracts signed before the end of the year, with additional deals expected to be signed by first quarter 2010.
Atzmon said the mouse is tailored for heavy computer users. Smartfish and its staff of 12 launched in 2006.
The company is developing other computer controllers and electronic devices that use the ErgoMotion technology. An ErgoMotion keyboard is slated for release in 2010; a video game controller is also under development.
