The Corporate Board’s Responsibility for Ethics & Risk in a Time of Crisis
Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014
9:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Rutgers Business School Newark 1 Washington Park Newark, NJ 07102 Directions
This half-day event focuses on one of the most critically important aspects of doing business with integrity: the role and the responsibility of the board of directors for setting the tone from the top, especially during a time of crisis.
The seminar will feature a keynote speech by Reatha Clark, Chairman of the Board of National Association of Corporate Directors, past member of the boards of Exxon and Wells Fargo and former President of the General Mills Foundation, followed by a "fireside" chat with Ms. Clark conducted by the event's facilitator, Andrea Bonime-Blanc, CEO of GEC Risk Advisory and Chair Emeritus of the Ethics & Compliance Officer Association.
The second half of the event will be a hands-on, ethical crisis scenario exercise in which the audience will act as the c-suite of a fictional company with a serious ethical crisis. A mock board, composed of actual board members, will voice the concerns and advice of the board during this crisis. The seminar will conclude with the articulation of critical take-aways on how boards can better set the tone from the top for ethical leadership and effective risk management.
