You’re never too young to make a difference. Youngsters ages 2 to 11 are invited to join the fun while supporting a good cause by participating in the Second Annual 4 Miler at Garret Mountain on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Garret Mountain Reservation in Woodland Park, N.J. Proceeds from the charity run, sponsored by the Sax Macy Fromm (SMF) Foundation, will benefit the Child Life Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, N.J.

Kids’ dashes, with distances ranging from 25 to 200 yards, will begin at 10:15 a.m., and all participating children will receive finishing ribbons. The entry fee for the kids’ dash is $8. Adults can participate in a 4-mile run at 9 a.m. or a 1.5-mile trail walk at 9:10 a.m. The pre-registration fee for adults is $23 before Sept. 2 and $25 thereafter.

To register for the event, visit www.raceforum.com/garret. Additional race day entertainment will include a DJ, random prize drawings, a variety of children’s activities and post-race refreshments. The 568-acre Garret Mountain Reservation is located at 288 Rifle Camp Road. The event will be held rain or shine.

The SMF Foundation once again is absorbing all expenses associated with the event in order to donate 100 percent of the proceeds raised through sponsors directly to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.
