Description

Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County is holding a 5k ‘Race to Build’ on Saturday, April 6th at the Oradell Reservoir in Harrington Park, NJ. The event will raise support from community residents and local businesses for the affiliate’s ‘Repair. Rebuild. ReStore’ Hurricane Sandy rebuilding program in Little Ferry, NJ.

Habitat Bergen has embarked on a long-term commitment of 18-24 months to rebuild block-by-block in Little Ferry, a town devastated by Sandy and hit hard a second time by an overflowing levee. Work has already begun, as community members and local corporate teams volunteer simultaneously on three homes per week. Habitat Bergen has completed five homes so far, and with 70 to go, the affiliate is in it for the long haul...

You can help us by participating in our '5k Race to Build'! You don't have to run...you can walk, skip, jump, back flip, or crawl your way across the finish line! it promises to be a fun day - radio station 92.3 NOW will be there to give away prizes, play music and make announcements and California Pizza Kitchen will be providing a free delicious lunch!
